Do you have your Sony Playstation 3 pre-orders in, yet? If you do, you are lucky or crazy. Many thousands of Americans stood hours in lines outside their favorite electronics store to pre-order a PS3 with the hopes of landing a system.
How many bones will you be dropping? Try $600 or P30,000! Do you think that sounds expensive? It’s actually a good deal. The PS3 features high definition Blu-Ray technology in movies and games. If you make an equivalent PC gaming machine with the next generation DVD player, Blu-Ray, the PC would cost well over $1000. If you buy a Blu-Ray DVD player for your new High Definition movies, the player will be near $1000. Is it worth the price. Yes. Is it worth standing in line to sell your soul to get one? No.

The United States gets only 400,000 units to sell, while Japan gets about 88,000. Europe doesn’t get any until March 2007. It will be interesting to see Sony play catch up to Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Game on, if you got it.

I have always been one of the first for the other playstations, but this time the price is high enough that I want to see how well it can integrate into my home theatre. The biggest reason that I bought PS2 was that they had several great games that were only on the Playstation. Now that is changing so I’m just going to wait until after X-mas and see….

yup. that’s exactly what I’m doing.

I stopped by an ebgames this weekend and they actually had one of the PS3’s so I couldn’t help myself. I am now setting it up and it appears that you can download demos of games and it looks like it will be SWEET. I haven’t played an XBOX 360 so no comparison, but the blu ray disk is awesome on my projector!
