Finally! After months of rumors, the “Jesus Phone” was pronounced a reality by Apple founder Steve Jobs at the MacWorld Expo. See what razorhead’s next mobile phone will look like! But, first, the bad news…

As you can see by the front view of the phone, there are No buttons. It’s a 3.5 inch touch screen! No stylus! Just use your finger. Please note this IS the Wide Screen iPod first. It play music just like any iPod. Just turn it on it’s side, and you can view movies and tv shows downloaded from iTunes Music Store.
The form is the slimmest smart phone in the world. Suck it all you chubby Palm Treos. Jeez, there’s so many features. I’ll just list my first impressions in bullet points:
- Runs on Mac OSX! Not a wap version of it, but a Full version! You are able to view the original website and zoom in! No more shitty Microsoft OS on your phone.
- 2.0 mega pixel camera phone. Nice, but would have been cooler to have at least a 3mp.
- Has qwerty keypad, but you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. I usually frown on those keypads, but this one looks very clean and easily punchable. It also has a huge number dialing pad.
- Quadband GSM world phone. Screw all you American Verizon and Sprint suckers. Steve said in his presentation he chose Cingular, because GSM is what the entire world uses outside of the United States. Yes, the Philippines will get it. Hell, the whole world will get it.
- Automatically connects to WiFi where ever you go. Has Bluetooth 2.0
- Comes in 4gigabyte and 8 gigabyte phones at $499 and $599. Is it worth it? Yes. Remember, it’s sold as an iPod with the phone as an extra. I’m not sure if that’s with a 2 year Cingular agreement?
- It docks in an iPod dock and connects to your Apple or PC with iTunes.

UPDATE: the $599 price tag IS including a 2 year contract with Cingular. Cingular gets exclusivity for 2 years! suck it, Verizon and Sprint. Since I’m with Cingular now, I can get one around August, because my contract ends in October. Can’t go wrong with Nokia. the N-95 I featured awhile ago was the one to beat. But, since we’re Apple fanboys…gotta go with the iPhone…plus, I need a new iPod..hehe…is the 5500 a slider?
