Apple iPod Touch

Here you go. The new Apple iPod Touch’s are here. Actually, almost the entire iPod line is upgraded in looks and capacity. The Touches, however, downgraded it’s capacity and upgraded it’s issues…

First, I’ll list some of it’s good ups. It’s a phone-less iPhone, basically. Most of the features found on the vaunted iPhone are retained. The 8 gig. and 16 gig. storage capacity remain the same. That’s horrible if you have thousands of songs in your iTunes library, not to mention all of the podcast videos, television shows, and movies, too.

If it’s possible, the sheer beauty and sexiness of the Touch will make you forget of it’s big shortcoming. Hey, you can finger it all day, and she wouldn’t show any scratches. The screen is a whopping 3.5 inches, great for watching t.v. or movies (sideways). Other than the familiar music and video functions, the newest generation brings us WiFi connections, so you can enjoy surfing the web on your Safari. You, finally, can buy and download music directly from your iTunes account, nice.

Now for the bad (frustrating). The calendar application is disabled. Perhaps, this will be added at a later firmware update? While the screen is gorgeous, there have been early reports of defective screens not showing the blacks in videos correctly. A comparison between the iPhone and iPod clearly shows the iPhone screen is much richer and sharper. NO email apps! What gives? No camera either. As mentioned before 8 and 16 gig configurations are a turn off for archivers.

The iPod lines should roll out eventually world-wide including the Philippines. If you want to be the cool kid on the block, this one’s for you. I was going to speak on the iPhone unlocking hacks, but it’s been over done and tired, so I’ll pass for now. Yes, it’s been hacked in the Philippines.

Apple seems to have a knack for getting you up for a new product then letting you down in the end. It’s always one or two things away from being perfect every time. Maybe, leaving you wanting more and more is the way to sell. Apple doesn’t need to do that. Fan boys, like the Guinto’s will buy Apple stuff, because, well, it’s Apple.

Question for you about the iphone. What about the screen? Lets say you put your phone in your pocket. Is this just a total no no or will you get scratches? Why not just buy the iphone as it appears to be the same cash. Do you get charged by iphone for browsing the internet.
