What’s wrong with this picture? Your eyes don’t deceive you. That’s the world’s most recognizable athlete, Michael Jordan. (Sorry, I’m not gonna try to bend it like Beckham.) Mr. Jordan was in Maui, Hawai’i, to watch his son, Jeff, play for the University of Illinois and celebrate his son’s 19th birthday.
How bizarre is it to see Michael in Illini orange? Everybody knows his famous alma mater, the University of North Carolina and it’s Carolina blue colors. I still remember seeing Michael sitting on the other side of the court, when the Tarheels played the Illini in the national championship game. It won’t hurt to have a little extra media attention come to Champaign-Urbana. I’m sure all the future recruits will take notice.
